Today was a book reading day. We took some books/magazines to Half Price books and sold them (of course, we didn't get as much as we bought) and we picked out lots of fun books to read. Gigi wanted a Princess book and picked out a Princess Collection. I picked out a few other fun books that I thought she would like. So then we had to stop at McDonalds and eat outside. Gigi had pancakes and I had a Happy Meal. Oh and we saw Ronald there. Then we came home and built a tent for our little "reading time." We loved it. We read all the books except the Collection book. It was another great day.

Saturday Fun
This beautiful chair is going to host a flower pot soon.
Saturday started out with Andrea and I hitting some Garage Sales and Antique Shops. We had so much fun. We got some great deals and some fun things. I've got a lot of projects going right now but I'm really excited to share them with you soon. Andrea found some great things that I'm sure she'll share with you on her blog. Then after antiquing I headed up to get a few things for our upcoming trip to Hilton Head. Then I visited Ali and Andy Chorpening at their High School graduation Open House. Then Andrea and Baron had planned a night out with friends so Addi and Gigi are spending the night with Mimi and Papa. We had so much fun.

SUMMER VACATION STARTS TODAY!!
She is showing off her attitude while saying the line here.
Waiting for popcorn and sprite.

Today was my first day off for Summer Vacation. Gigi is staying with me for the summer and her Daddy told her that she was now on summer break. She thought that meant we were going to the beach today. So after getting over that let down she ask me what it meant to be on summer vacation. I told her that I didn't have to work and she didn't have to go to Miss Shawdra's (the babysitter's). She was very excited that we were going to spend lots of days together. So we decided that Friday's are movie days and we went to see Judy Moody today. I thought it was so cute. She was very intensely watching it and eating her popcorn. When we left she said that next week she wanted to go see Judy Moody again. I'm going to push for Kung Foo Panda. We'll see.

Our Feathered Friends
I've been working on a Bird House for my garden area. I finally got it put up today with the help of John. Early this month Gigi and I did some peanut butter and bird seed pine cones that we hung in the trees at Andrea and Baron's house. Gigi happily reported on Saturday that the birds ate all the seeds. I'm going to do the same for my house but didn't get to it today.

Book Club celebrates Lacey with a Bridal Shower
Tonight we celebrated Lacey's upcoming wedding with a surprise Wedding Shower. I'm not so sure that it was a surprise but it was fun. She was surprised when her mom and sister came in. We had a taco bar at Emily's beautiful house. We also got to meet Mr. Richard Miyamoto, Lisa's precious 4 month old baby boy. The food was amazing, with tacos, Julie's Mexican chicken casserole, Andrea's 7 layer dip and some great desserts that Emily made. Lacey got some really nice gifts and we talked about our book and found out that the new book is Room. I would say it was a succesful book club.

What I've been working on? What are you working on?
Since it is High School graduation time, I've been making T-shirt quilts like crazy. I also had one girl who just wanted an ultra soft blanket. I have a couple more to do and I'll be done. Check out my etsy store to see my quilts. Also, I would love to know what you are working on. Leave me a comment and tell me.

Its all about the black and white
Every year it has become a tradition for John and the guys to go to the race. This year was different because Vince wasn't here to go. He was greatly missed. But John, Baron, and Nick were joined by one of John's friends Dave. They started the day with biscuits and gravy sat up in the garage. Then with lunch and some drinks in tow they left at 7:30 a.m. They had a great day and as always John had the best day. I think he bleeds black and white! I see the pictures each year and swear they are the same pictures from the year before. But I'm glad they have so much fun and enjoy the traditions. We ended the day with a cookout and all got in to the day of black and white.
